Regeneron Science Talent Search: BCA Boasts 8 Semifinalists
On January 4th, eight BCA students were named top scholars of the Regeneron Science Talent Search, one of the nation’s most prestigious research competitions. Formerly called “Intel”, the contest awards $2,000 to each scholar for their independent research and is a program of Society for Science & the Public.
Seniors Enoch Jiang (ABF), Indrani Das (AMST), Jacy Fang (AMST), Jiwoo Lee (AMST), Christina Ping (AMST), Varun Subramaniam (AMST), Andrew Kevin Fong (AAST), and Sabrina Josefina Gjerswold-Selleck (AAST) conducted some phenomenal research.
All of the research was conducted under the mentorship of Mrs. Leonardi, Dr. Pergolizzi, and Mrs. Waldron. This remarkable recognition of their work is the culmination of many hours spent in the labs of BCA planning, designing, and executing their experiments.
The Chronicle was fortunate enough to sit down with each of our semifinalists for a one-on-one interview to discuss their individual studies, inspirations, and reflections on the entirety of the experience.
